During the Blitz years, the Palace of Westminster was hit at least twelve times by high explosive and incendiary bombs. The most serious damage occurred during the heavy raid of 10-11 May 1941. On that night, the Chamber of the House of Commons was completely destroyed and three men were killed.

For more details on the damage caused to the House of Commons during 10-11 May 1941 see Bomb Incidents page.
